Dear COG members and friends,

It is with heavy hearts we mourn the untimely loss of Christian "Tanker" "House" Tanner.

Christian was a COG member from the start of our organization and he and Ted White were the first Grand Prix winners of the 12 Oz Regatta (before the reign of Steve Eagley and Joe Gibson). It is unknown how many beers House poured at various COG events over the years but whenever there was a call for help he was there to lend a hand. Last year, COG awarded House our MVP award for his tireless work on behalf of COG including his willingness to be an amazing emcee at the 12 Oz Regatta.

To say that House will be missed is an understatement, his infectious smile, his acerbic wit, his political astuteness, his amazing mind for factoids and trivia will remain unrivaled. Most importantly, he was a true friend and a mensch (your Yiddish lesson for the day) In the truest sense of the word to all lucky enough to call him a friend. Christian Tanner, thank you for being you, you will never be forgotten.

A gathering to toast and celebrate House will occur at ACME beginning at 6:00 p.m. tonight (Saturday 11/11).

Fair winds and following seas our dear friend
