COG gets dirty, wet, and yes...poison ivy

 4/16/05

April 16th,  11 (yes, eleven!) COG members turned out in force to participate in Greenscape '05.  Over 60 sites across the Annapolis area held Greenscape events to spruce up landscapes in public areas.

COG members served at Back  Creek Nature Park once again, by clearing large areas of phragmites (an invasive marsh grass with little to no habitat value to native wildlife), by planting several small trees, shrubs, and Black-eyed Susans, and by cleaning trash from the marsh and woods surrounding the creek.

It was hard work but was very rewarding.  COG wisely thanked its volunteers by providing cold beer and a hearty cookout lunch afterwards.  Thanks to our volunteers:  Chris and Laura Moore, Jacky Cox, Ron Katz, Marni Grimm, Lisa Talley, Stacy Ramos, Beth Grant, Donna Morrow, Paul Tickel and Jon Forst.   Good job everyone
